Road Trip to Eddie's Raceway
First we would like to thank Eddie and his wife for inviting our group to attend and for their hospitality and especially the fine food that was prepared for all those attending!!!!!!!!THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!!
Mike and Mark meet Glenn at his house, about 3:35 Saturday Morning and packed Mike's Tahoe with Mark as usual bringing too much stuff, by 4:05 we were on the road to Eddie's Raceway. It looked like it was going to be a cold day buy when arriving at Eddie's 5 hours later it was just a little cool but by the time the practice and racing started it was perfect weather. There was much talking and laughter in the pits and then there was some serious tuning going on. Early in the day it looked like Ben was the one to beat in all the classes and everyone was scrambling to be close. Fast lap time showed Ben to be at the top of the leader board but there were some changes taking place as the racing unfolded.
SuperStock
Mike look to be very fast in the first heat with a high of 55 laps and Ben following close behind while Mark was nipping at Ben's heals. Mike kept up the heat in heat two but Ben closed in and was only 2 laps behind and Mark 7 laps behind Ben. Heat 3 saw Mike on black lane and taking a nose dive loosing 8 laps to Ben and Mark gaining two laps on Ben. Heat four was Mike turning up the wick and getting high lap total of 56 taking the lead while Ben was on black only getting 42 giving Mike a six lap lead and Mark gaining 4 laps pulling within 3 laps of Ben.
In heat five Mark had a good run and pulled within 2 laps of Mike and pulling 3 laps over Ben,the final heat would be a tough fight for all of them. Ben had the high total in the last segment but was not enough to beat Mike with 290, Ben with 286 and Mark with 285, what a close up and down battle it was between these top racers!!!
Modified
Modified saw Ben's very fast T2 taking the lead with 57 laps to John the Jet with 53 while Mark, Jon and John all having 52. In heat two Mark pulled a 65 lap total to Ben's 56 and John the Jet with 54 giving Mark a four lap lead. In the third heat both Mark and Ben pulling 65 laps and John the Jet, 60 laps. In heat 4 Ben was able to pull 2 laps and Mark with John the Jet loosing a few laps. In heat 5 saw Ben having pickup shoe problems and loosing 14 laps to Mark and John the Jet catching 7 laps on Ben. In the final heat Mark had some handling problems but was able on hold off Ben who gained 10 laps on Mark and he pulled out 11 more laps on John the Jet, Mark 375 laps, Ben 367 laps and John the Jet 346 laps. Both Ben and Mark did a high heat lap total of 70 laps so it was just keeping out of trouble that Mark was able to win over Ben.

Let the Carnage begin
And carnage it was, with both Mike and Bobby out of the race very early both not making it to the 4th heat while Glenn and Eddie have serious problems in the middle of the race. Then Mark had gear problem putting him out of contention for the lead, leaving Gary and Ben fighting for the lead. Ben looked to be the one to beat for he had been running a very consistently fast pace all race but Gary would have nothing with that keeping a small lead of 5 laps so whoever had the best run in the last heat would be the winner. The first half of the heat saw Ben closing fast on Gary but then he over pushed the car and came off a few time giving Gary a hard fought win, well done Gary!! Gary with 317 laps, Ben 307 laps and Mark with 275 laps were the totals.
Thanks Again to Eddie and his Family for putting on a GREAT EVENT!!!!!

2nd Annual 8 Hr Endurance Race at The Glenn!!!
First of all, we would like the thank Cathy for taking the time to cook us two excellent meals to give us all the energy to race The 8 hr Endurance Race at the Glenn, I think I gained 10lbs.
Racing was hot and fast, during practice we saw that the Denver Boys Slottech T2 car had the fastest pace and were the ones to beat, GSL seemed to be a close second running a close place the the Denver Boy, Team MRT was having handling issuses and it continued in the first two heats. In the first two hours the Denver boys took a 141 on lap lead over Team MRT while Team GSL was 183 laps behind and Jordan's Team getting those most important laps in.
The second two hours of racing say the Denver Boys adding to their lead over Team MRT by another 140 laps giving them a lead of 281 laps and Team GSL had some car issues and lost some 200 laps while Jordan's Team just keep putting in those all important laps.
The third two hours say in the first half the Denver Boys increasing their total lead to 426 laps but they began to have car problems and Team MRT ended up leading this segment by 4 laps gaining 145 laps in the segment with an overall gain of 4 laps for the heat.
In the last segment, Team MRT with the momentum from the last segment continued to knock off laps from the Denver boys lead and by the last hour had decrease their lead to under 200 laps and were closing in at a fast rate since the Denver Boys were on the slowest and most difficult lane.
It was so much fun to watch Pete V. get on the track and run the last 10 minutes of the race to break the old record, he had so much fun and
the whole group applauded as he passed the record, he was grinning from ear to ear!!!!!!
But there just was not enough time to catch all the laps from the first two segment and THE DENVER BOY'S WON THE RACE BY 131 LAPS over Team MRT and 864 laps over Team GSL with Jordan's Team have a total of 5167 laps.
Glenn held a wonderful race and thanked all the Racers for attending. The award plagues were beautiful!!! WE MUST GIVE A SPECIAL THANKS TO LARRY FOR MAKING BEAUTIFUL T-SHIRTS FOR THE RACE AND EVERYONE GOT ONE AND SEVERAL WERE SOLD TO GIVE MONEY TO THE CLUB FUNDS.
THANKS LARRY FOR THE AWESOME SHIRTS AND DECALS!!!!!
What was so Great was the wonderful food that Cathy prepared and the many long conversation between the racers during the event. I must say the track was in perfect condition and we all had a wonderful time, CAN'T WAIT TILL NEXT YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!
Two more races in our series with the next race being at MRT Raceway in and April and Tom's Raceway in May.
With that being said several of our club members will be attending the HOPRA Nats in June!!!!!!!

Race at Eddies
All of us from Arizona would like to thank Eddie for putting on a well run race, we started racing at 1pm and finished about 6:15 and with running three classes of cars that was fantastic!!! The track was a blast to run it was very fast considering that it is 20 feet longer than the normal Scorpion track.
The SuperStock class has 18 entries and ran three heats of 6 to come up with the 6 main races, you can see the individuals in the pictures below on how they did on each lane. The podium consisted of Mark MacVittie, Scott Dunlop and Rich Jocham. All three cars were Storms and built by Mark with his preped arms.
The Modified class had 14 entries and ran two heats with sit outs to come up the the 6 main racers which you can see below on how each person did on each lane in the main. The podium consisted of Mark MacVittie, Ben Vasquez and Mike Stewart. Mike and Mark ran Storms and Ben ran a T1.
The Neo class had 8 entries which was run as one race round robin. The podium consisted of Glenn Gordon, Ben Vasques and Gary Morgan. Glenn ran a P2, Ben a T1 and Gary a G. Glenn's car was one he had got from Scott Dunlop the night before. Mark ran a RO car and finished 5th.
Again thanks for and EXCELLENT EVENT EDDIE!!!!!!!
